2017 Lexus GS 350 F Sport Review

2017 Lexus GS 350 F Sport

Summer’s here! For me, that means vacations, lounging around, and hanging out with family. A few days ago, I traveled to Florida for a mini vacation. One thing I can say about Florida – it is H U M I D! A/C not working in your car this summer, may the force be with you. Anywho, while in Florida, I was able to test drive the 2017 Lexus GS 350 F Sport. I was initially worried about its size and the amount of luggage we had (4 large bags) but we were able to make them fit. Anyway, let’s get into this review.

Believe it or not, while I was at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green, a black Lexus sedan zoomed past me and I was in awe by its exterior. I told myself, “my next vehicle will be a Lexus.” I’ve never driven a Lexus but I was so intrigued by its new look, I knew I wanted to get my hands on one so imagine my excitement when I got the opportunity to test drive the 2017 Lexus GS 350 F Sport. My first impression? Loved the body. Didn’t care for the color – the Atomic Silver didn’t wow me. Loved the leather seats and dashboard.

The Good

  • Push to start button with a keyless entry system. At the worst times, my keys fall into a black hole in my bag and I’m searching for what feels like eons for my keys. With this system, as long as the key is nearby, I can open up the door and it will automatically unlock.
  • Lane assist. The wheel vibrates, when you drift out of your lane.
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers. Switch the wipers to auto mode and it detects rain/liquid and does its job.
  • Keyless entry system. No need to fumble for your keys. Once your keys are near you, simply press the button on the car door, and it locks or unlocks.
  • Power sunroof.
  • Blind spot monitoring. If your current vehicle doesn’t have this, make sure your future vehicle does. This feature can be the difference between an accident and an effortless merge.
  • Color display projection on the windshield. If you follow me on Snapchat, you’ve seen my snaps showcasing the speed and lane assist information being projected onto the windshield.
  • Rear a/c vents seats. Like I mentioned, summertime in Florida is HOT and humid so these vents cool the car down quickly and provide quick heat relief for your passengers.
  • Back-up camera with direction assist and object warning.
  • Distance recognition system. This safety feature provides a comfortable driving distance in cruise control mode.
  • Power open/close button. You can open the trunk using the key fob or button inside the vehicle and close it by pressing the button inside of the trunk.

The Bad

  • The stereo system. Didn’t like it.
  • The infotainment center mouse control. The controls are super sensitive and a bit frustrating to navigate with.

All In All

All in all, driving the 2017 Lexus GS 350 F Sport was such a great experience that I missed it when I returned home. No, seriously, I wish I could have spent more time in Florida so I could learn more about the vehicle. I would recommend it to anyone in the market of purchasing a luxury sedan. If you trust the Toyota brand, then Lexus should be a no-brainer. I’m looking forward to test driving their other sedans, coupes, and SUVs.
