Belgian Waffles Recipe chryssvi_black_food_blogger

If you’re going to eat waffles, why not make them fluffy, tasty Belgian waffles? I recently started making Belgian waffles since I received my very own Cuisinart Belgian Waffle Maker. So no, I’m not a professional in making waffles from scratch. If you’re like me and have pancake mix lying around and want to make waffles from that mix, you’re in the right place. Here’s my recipe I use when making waffles from pancake mix.

Belgian Waffles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, crack open two eggs and beat them.
  2. Mix in the milk and vegetable oil.
  3. Add all of the dry ingredients: pancake mix, and brown sugar.
  4. Stir/mix.
  5. Spray waffle iron with cooking spray or coat with vegetable oil.
  6. Set waffle iron to the setting of your choice.
  7. Add cup (included with most waffle irons) of batter to waffle iron.
  8. Close waffle iron and turn handle.
  9. Allow waffle to cook until ready. Note: with the Cuisinart Belgian Waffle Maker, the “ready” light illuminates when the waffle is fully cooked.
  10. Remove waffles and repeat until batter is finished.

Tip: Serve with syrup or confetti sugar.

The Cuisinart 4 Slice Belgian Waffle Maker is easy to use. It includes a stainless steel drip tray to catch all of the messy drips that come with making waffles – and yes, you’ll need it.

One thing I must admit, the maker is a bit hard to clean. I usually wipe it down with a soapy dishrag, wash out the rag, and wipe it down again. I then take the rag and clean in between each square.

Though it’s quite a process to clean, I enjoy my waffle maker and I’m still tweaking my recipe to make it perfect with the right amount of sweetness.

I did not receive compensation for this post. However, I did receive product for review.
